Uche Ignites Straightforward Palace Win at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Despite entering their first-ever continental campaign, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Without star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually secures them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

Another victory in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure direct passage to the last 16, especially following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Moment

This occasion provided a platform for several Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second game in match.

The Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season were outmatched even for a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were already weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.

The match was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, indicating there is still scope for improvement in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
