The Streaming Giant Chooses Perfect Star for Bon Clay in One Piece Upcoming Installment

Baroque Works is set to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t unfold until the next season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.

Netflix announced this week that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Bentham. Bon Clay has the ability to change into an exact copy of anyone they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a version of that role reimagined as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the initial comic and anime.

Escola is joined by multiple new cast members tasked with bringing the organization to life, such as leader Mr. 0, portrayed by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the ensemble as the ruler of the desert kingdom.

Even though Bon Clay is a key figure of Baroque Works, the character will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Given season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this marks a major departure in the placement of their first appearance, one that could suggest more adjustments to the narrative framework.

The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the character. In addition to their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is due to premiere for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
