The Blue Jays Secure Fall Classic Matchup Against Los Angeles Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

Springer previously helped the Astros claiming the World Series in the 2017 season.

The Toronto Blue Jays earned a spot in their first championship series after 1993 by beating the Seattle Mariners in the final seventh game of the American League Championship Series.

Behind three runs to one, Springer smashed a three-run homer in the seventh, leading the only Canadian franchise in Major League Baseball to a four games to three victory in the series. Awaiting them are the Dodgers, who are the reigning title, in the upcoming World Series.

"I'm just so happy for this squad, Toronto, the nation," commented Springer, a key player of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 World Series. "What an unbelievable moment."

Springer has now connected for 23 total October home runs, making him third all-time trailing only Ramirez (29) and Altuve (27).

"I can't think of anyone else on planet Earth that I want up in that situation besides George Springer with his post-season brilliance," remarked Schneider.

The Mariners, who had led the early in the series, remain the only MLB franchise yet to make an appearance in a championship series.

Wilson commented "there's no question that it's going to sting" in the wake of his team's loss at Rogers Centre, but applauded their performance in the campaign.

"It's a special team. Sadly that we finished on the losing end of the series," he continued.

Toronto's team won the title on both previous visits in the early 90s, and are set to host the Dodgers in the first game on the upcoming Friday.
