'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith continues clash with Manchester City.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he reminisces about the nail-biting final moments of Swansea's epic comeback victory against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. That match ended with Galbraith briefly donning a fan's glasses after the post-goal scrum.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a speculative shot from 25 yards, and his teammate immediately hammered in the deflection before racing off toward the home end to mark the goal, with the crowd mobbing the players.

Stunning Reversal

The result capped an incredible turnaround given the Welsh side had found themselves down 2-0 during the final 45 minutes. During the delirium, there was some minor mishaps. Galbraith explained, "There was a spectator trying to get our attention and we were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're humans, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The victory secured a fourth-round match at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, a club Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with the London side in February. He had arguably the best view when his former team took the lead in stunning style, with a teammate's first-time shot from about 45 yards going in via the bar and the opposition keeper. It feels criminal that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've awarded it to him for taking the effort on from that distance," stated Galbraith, who started in midfield before shifting to right flank after Orient changed tactics. That meant getting to grips with the England international, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the player was among the City players who praised the way the underdogs approached the match.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and basic skills, they can just perform consistently," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they always find their target and they are adept at dictate and neutralize a game. You can feel you're all right and then without warning they will just fizz a pass through a line without you even spotting it. You have to be switched on at all times of the game. It takes a resilient mindset and focus just to remain competitive."

Swansea Move

The club pushed to sign Galbraith in January and beat off competition to bring him in in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He made a name as a fans' favourite across multiple campaigns at Orient and has swiftly replicated that in south Wales. At Orient he linked up again with his former manager, who four years ago gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in senior football on loan at a League One side from Manchester United. Then came a loan at fourth-tier Salford City, before he moved on from his boyhood club.

Development Path

"I was perhaps a somewhat inexperienced going into men's football. I think a lot of players would say development squad matches is entirely separate. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without real physicality. There are limited tackles or duels. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adapt rapidly."

Country Call-ups

He has shown that development for his team and nation, excelling for the Green and White Army, who could still reach the global tournament next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has featured in the recent fixtures, including home and away games against the German national team. His former international manager, Galbraith's previous international manager, offered the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he manipulates the ball and his ability to spot a killer pass.

Humble Beginnings

It has been a remarkable path for the player from the neighborhood in his hometown, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who used to see his parent, Stuart, also a central player, play for a local club.

Red Devils Debut

The player's single match for Manchester United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a Europa League trip to Astana, where they competed on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was closed owing to conditions of freezing cold. "It was a lengthy journey and it was chilly," he comments, grinning. "The preceding week, myself and quite a few of the young lads trained together, so that aided our adjustment. Just to accompany the senior squad and make an appearance at the end was amazing."

Moving On

What was the challenge was it to depart Manchester United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged a teenager? "This turned out fairly simple, because I got to the stage where I realized I wouldn't break through at the top level. I'm extremely thankful for the time I spent there but it became apparent where I believed I required a fresh start, move to a lower level and play men's football. Now I'm steadily working my way back up."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at the club's training ground but Galbraith has an appointment at the early evening: a road rules assessment, another progress toward getting on the road. Before his recent move to Sketty, the 24-year-old was a regular in Swansea's dubbed player transport, a small coach driven by academy staff, the transport team, which shuttles players to and from training and matches.

"My companions include a teammate, Ronald, an Ivorian player – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has got his license. It's nice to interact with the teammates but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual out of the minibus and behind the wheel. The Portuguese player is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Public Engagement

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would blend in with supporters on the Tube after beginning his trip at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
