Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features text commentary for the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard on select stations covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week of the NFL season and following recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking during those contests was the number of penalties each committed. Philadelphia did so at crucial times meaning they essentially beat themselves after leading 17-3 going into the final quarter against Denver, set to play in London this weekend.

But it was positive to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall and then direct three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory 21-17.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They are number one in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, and the Broncos won that battle.

They executed effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They weren't always rushing extra defenders instead they might plug two linebackers in the interior then drop them out and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

Early on in the campaign, we said during a show that Denver might emerge as this season's dark horses. They finished last season well and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

New TE their tight end has stepped up significantly and new running back JK Dobbins is a guy they believe in. He's currently fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love that head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver are a team aiming to prioritize the run, since one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while keeps you in positive down and distances.

This has helped quarterback Bo Nix, who came into the league as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he is highly agile.

His assets are his movement, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as using varied release points to deliver the pass as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to throw precision throws over the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He aims to evade a sack whenever possible and is able throw under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is very decisive.

When you constantly rush it eats up the clock and forces the opponent to be on the field for longer, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defence has to cover the field vertically side to side. This proves exhausting.

Nix has bitten back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and it seems the coach likes that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to have a rookie QB who's kind of like play-dough. He can really build something up how he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are experiencing on offence is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix helps shape him what he is.

There's no better a better guy in your ear, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team strong enough to go against an elite team at its best? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're working better than most, that's a good place to be in their division. The key is is maintain this path.

They're really good at embracing their strength, which is the ground game, and that's exactly what they must do against the Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they're the sole squad yet to win any game.

Ever since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, this is surprising considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver face a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 while Denver are even with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the West.

This hinges on which form of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
