Legal authorities have stated that a ex- physician has been charged with performing sexual assaults against 38 individuals who were patients.

The Grave Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

One deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

List of Charges

Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences comprise:

• Fifteen counts of assault.
• Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
• 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
• Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
• 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities have asked individuals with information to contact the investigating team.
