Both Deceased Students Identified in the Ivy League School Incident as Police Continue Hunt for Perpetrator.

Two students who were killed in the weekend's tragic incident in Providence were honored at the start of the week – amid a widespread hunt for their shooter carried on following the discharge by authorities in Rhode Island of the single suspect questioned in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

The young woman Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was described as “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, as stated by the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which paid tribute to her at a service on Sunday.

Her role included the vice-presidency of Brown’s branch of the College Republicans organization, according to the organization. The White House press secretary also expressed words of sorrow publicly, saying in part: “Words cannot express. Thinking of her loved ones and companions, above all her mom and dad.”

An International Student

The second fatality was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his first year of studies at the renowned school, according to relatives.

Umurzokov’s identity was confirmed by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. His ambitions were lofty of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and aiding others,” his sibling Samira said in a online post.

What Happened

Nine other people were wounded in Saturday’s attack in the engineering building of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Law enforcement reported late Sunday that a 24-year-man detained in a raid at a Hampton Inn about approximately 17 miles from the campus earlier in the day was being released.

“We have a murderer out there,” declared Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

He continued, “Investigations can lead one way, and then you must reassess and head another way, and this is precisely what occurred over the last approximately one day.”

Ongoing Concerns

Brett Smiley, Brett Smiley, acknowledged: “It is expected to provoke fresh anxiety for our city”.

The shooter opened fire inside a room in the building on over the weekend, shooting over four dozen bullets from a 9mm handgun, a authority informed the media outlet.

Law enforcement that searched the lodging found two handguns and two ammunition clips when the suspect was detained, as was reported.

Condition of the Injured

Regarding the nine injured, a single scholar was released from the hospital, stated Brown’s president, Christina Paxson. Seven others were in serious yet stable state, and one was in critical condition, authorities stated on Sunday.
